What is Survey Merchandiser?



First of all let me explain what the Survey Merchandiser app is all about. Basically, this is an app where they send you to do assignments in different stores to take pictures of displays and answer some questions about the displays and store in general.


The owner of the app isa company called Survey.com and it has other apps as well. The jobs consist of different functions such as; take pictures of displays, take inventory, report pricing, build displays or add stickers to products.


It is available for iOS as well as Android devices and you can download it from the App Store. It requires your GPS and is only available in the US.

How Survey Merchandiser Works.



So how does this app work? I'm glad you asked. First you will need to download the app and create and account for yourself. The app requires GPS services in order to determine your area and so you can view the jobs (or Projects) available in your area. Once you have completed your information, you are ready to go!


Begin searching for projects that you would like to complete. Each job has plenty of information and details on what is required to complete the project as well as examples of pictures you should take.


If you find a Project that interests you simply request the job and if there are no additional requirements needed it will be assigned to you. The great thing about Survey Merchandiser is that once you have a few projects "under your belt", they will begin to reach out to you and offer "Routes" which are multiple projects in the area that include bonuses for drive-time and multiple projects completed. That's when the larger amount of payouts are given.


The pay for each project varies from $7 to up to $50 depending on how badly they want you to complete it. Once you complete the project it usually takes between 24 to 48 hours to approve. This may also vary depending on the project or if it lands on the weekend. Once the project is approved, you can view it in the Payment Center under the "Available for Payment" section in your app. At that point you can press the "REQUEST PAYMENT" button and it will be deposited into your account. Please note that if your reimbursement is less than the $5 minimum to be able to request a payment, you won't be able to.

Well as you can see from the previous picture, I've made some pretty good money with this app. So, two thumbs up for me (if I was grading it with thumbs). You can make some good money with this app if you play your cards right.


Some things to keep in mind:

1. Gas Prices - with gas pricing being so expensive these days, make sure you pay attention to how far the job is. I use the Gas Mileage Calculator to calculate the gas expense before I decide if I want to request the job. I created a YouTube tutorial showing you how to use that calculator.

2. Project Schedule - try to schedule projects in the same area so that you can reduce gas expenses and maximize each trip.

3. Negotiate - there may be some wiggle room in the amount they pay per job. Ask if they can pay you more. The worst they can do is say no. Also, see if they are willing to pay a bonus for completing multiple projects.

4. Speed Comes With Experience - the more projects you complete the easier they become and quicker you will complete them.
